Connecting With Plastic Surgery Patients and Community

Since moving here to establish La Jolla Facial Plastic Surgery in 2015, I’ve enjoyed getting to know San Diego and the special people who call this beautiful area home. Launching a new practice requires long hours, but I’ve tried to use some of that time to really reflect on what matters most to me as my staff and I continue to build it.

Patient Education

Learning about the region and its residents has helped me understand some of the most common concerns that patients have when they seek the services of a facial plastic surgery specialist. For example, people in La Jolla and throughout Southern California lead active lifestyles and spend much of their free time outside. That’s great, but it often involves extensive sun exposure that can age the skin prematurely and lead to skin cancer.

At my practice, I see patient education as an important part of my job. If patients come to me for facial rejuvenation, I want them to enjoy the results for as long as possible.

Lasting Connections

Facial plastic surgery produces results that typically last a long time. But whether I perform eyelid surgery, a facelift, or rhinoplasty, I believe in staying in touch with patients long after their surgery. I believe creating lasting connections with each patient is important, whether I’m checking in to see how the results are evolving or to simply ask about family or work. And I encourage patients to contact me with any questions or concerns they might have about their procedures — whether it’s a week or a year after surgery.

Giving Back

For better or worse, self-esteem and physical appearance are inextricably linked. Facial plastic surgery gives me a way to improve the lives of patients who may have low self-esteem — and this is especially true for children whose confidence can be undermined by physical defects.

I’m honored to participate in Fresh Start Surgical Gifts at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, where reconstructive surgery is provided to infants, children, and teens with physical deformities caused by birth defects, accidents, abuse, or disease. Every child receives the highest quality medical care, regardless of the family’s ability to pay.

I encourage you to check in occasionally to my blog, where I’ll continue to provide information about the practice and new facial rejuvenation procedures. And of course, if you’re looking for a facial plastic surgeon in the San Diego area, you can request a consultation online or call us at (858) 461-0383.
